Education and specialization

Jacob has received his education as Psychologist from Copenhagen University 1984. He was licensed as psychologist by the National Health Authorities in 1999 and has been approved as a specialist and supervisor in Organisational Psychology by the Danish Psychological Association 2004. He has received training as an Aviation psychologist in the Royal Danish Airforce. He has completed a 3-year psychotherapy training program in ISTDP and participates in ongoing training and supervision in ISTDP. See clinical background.

Current and previous employment

Jacob has had a private practice the last 25 years working with psychotherapy, counseling, crisis intervention and evaluations. Before that he had 20 years in specialist and leadership roles in national and international companies and been a member of the executive management in a global service provider. He has lived in Switzerland for some years and has worked with the interaction between people and organizations across Scandinavian, Europe, North and South America and Asia. He has been in clinical fellowship with Allan E. Larsen since 2016, until the establishment of the partnership ISTDPCPH in 2022. For further information please visit IN.

Particular experience

  • Psychotherapeutic treatment of specialists and leaders with stress, burnout symptoms, relational conflicts, issues with regenerating energy, loss of overview, motivational and control/doublet check problems.
  • Aviation psychological treatment of reactions following critical operational incidents on Flight Deck and in Cabin and of stress disorder.
  • Working with people early in their career or late in their studies with issues such as low self-esteem, motivation, difficulties making decisions, anxiety, and depression.
  • Supervision of psychologist heading for receiving a license or approval as specialist.
